Uralkali Joins UN Global Compact

Uralkali (the Company), one of the world’s leading potash producers, has joined the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, which aims to implement sustainability principles to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The UN Global Compact is a voluntary initiative that encourages its participants to adhere to a set of ten universal sustainability principles, focusing on upholding internationally proclaimed human rights, and promoting the preservation of the environment, responsible labour practices, and anti-corruption.

The compact has over 13,000 signatories in more than 160 countries, and a number of local networks including in Russia, which encourage further collaboration in corporate sustainability at a country level.

Vitaly Lauk, Uralkali CEO, commented:

We look forward to being part of a global network committed to supporting and upholding corporate sustainability in all its forms. Joining the UN Global Compact demonstrates Uralkali’s continued commitment to upholding the highest standards of corporate governance, social responsibility and environmental protection at our operations and the communities we operate in. The Global Compact will be an excellent platform for us to promote collaboration on sustainability within the Russian corporate community and across the global fertilizer industry.
